Chitwan National Park is in South Central Nepal. It was one of the first National parks in the country, and is still one of the best.
Chitwan is famous for its wildlife; the Bengal Tiger is on top of everyone’s list as the animal to see here, although sadly the chances get slimmer with each passing year. There are also rhinos, bears, crocodiles and numerous different species of birds to keep you entertained.
There are various options for travelling around the park, by foot or on an elephant are the most popular - both will give you good chances of seeing a lot of wildlife.
Although no lodges are allowed to operate inside the park now, there is good accommodation within the buffer zone adjacent to it.
