Located on the Delhi road to Jaipur, the Samode Palace is an ancient Rajput-Mughal palace restored in the 1980s by the Samode family and converted into a beautiful luxury hotel with a lovely warm family feel to it. Still retaining many of the original features, the palace is sprawling and quirky, perhaps a little rustic in places, and each room is unique. There is no shortage of activities available, including horse riding, camel safaris and village visits.
Lying in the Aravalli Hills on the Delhi road to Jaipur, the Samode Palace is a magnificent example of Rajput-Mughal architecture and is undoubtedly one of Rajasthan’s finest palace hotels. Large and sprawling with a variety of wings, levels, terraces and courtyards, the palace retains many of its original features and has been exquisitely restored. With stunning frescoes and mirror-work throughout the property, the rooms and suites are gorgeous and colourful and each is absolutely unique. The vast Royal Suites, with their balconies and jacuzzis, are quite fabulous and the sort of rooms you simply never want to leave.
The cuisine is superb; both Indian and international options are available, along with an extensive wine list. The spectacular main pool offers the perfect spot for a snack in the sun or an outrageously romantic candlelit dinner whilst on an Indian Honeymoon. Why not take a stroll round the cobbled lanes of Samode village and market - or a camel ride out into the sand dunes at sundown?
