The luxurious Banjaar Tola is the Taj Safaris / &Beyond lodge in the Kanha National Park area and has arguably the best level of guiding you will find in Kanha. Tented guest suites, airy and contemporary in style, are spread along the banks of the Banjaar River and have panoramic views over the river where spotted deer come to drink.
Banjaar Tola is located right beside the Banjaar River looking directly into the Kanha National Park, only 15 minutes from the Mukki Gate into the park. The lodge comprises two identical camps, East and West, each with a raised dining area, swimming pool and 9 tented suites spread along the banks of the Banjaar River.
The communal dining area has two large air-conditioned tented spaces with an interlinking platform looking out over the river, where lunch is served during the cooler winter months - during spring and summer it is best to retreat to the air-conditioning. The tented suites are raised on stilts and are luxurious, light and contemporary in style. Huge beds are set on raised round platforms, and bathtubs have river views. Private decks and large sliding doors give panoramic views over the river where one can watch wildlife coming to drink.
Game drives are offered mornings (0600-1030) and afternoons (1500-1800) - except Wednesday afternoon, which is a good time to enjoy a spa treatment, visit a local village or just relax in the lodge and watch the wildlife and some of the 200 local bird species. The vehicles here are open TATA 4x4s with tiered seating for 6 guests. Elephant safaris may be available.
