Located in one of the few remaining places on earth where the majestic Orang-utan can be seen in the wild, the Rimba Eco Lodge only accessible by boat from the port of Kumai, the Rimba EcoLodge provides a unique base in which to explore the lush surrounding rainforest and Tanjung Putting National Park.
The rooms are in tune with the local environment and are quite rustic, only fan cooled with mosquito nets and mainly just cold water showers, but it is befitting the locale. The small restaurant serves a limited menu of western dishes, best stick to the local Indonesian meals, all served by the happy and friendly staff. Yes it is rustic, but you will get no better chance of seeing these amazing creatures in the wild which would be fantastic on an Indonesia family holiday.
