At an elevation of over 2,000 metres, the Paro Valley is the perfect end to most journeys through the Kingdom. The first and the largest of the Aman properties in Bhutan and is still one of the best in this small Himalayan Kingdom. Located outside overlooking the town of Paro, the Amankora is nestled nicely within a pine clad forest with spectacular views across to Mount Jumolhari, this rustic resort but with a very contemporary design with a large flagstone courtyard.
Surrounded by pine forests, this 24 suite retreat is similar to the other Amankora properties in Bhutan with its subtle blend of rustic elements with contemporary design. The dining and living rooms are all warmed by traditional fireplaces with large lounging chairs, the cuisine is a blend of Bhutanese and Indian and the dining room opens onto an external terrace overlooking a lovely stream. The Aman Paro is the perfect base in which take a morning hike up to the famous Tigers Nest, one of Bhutan’s most revered ancient sites. The monastery is perched on a cliff 900 metres above the valley floor and there are several vantage points giving astonishing views. As Paro normally would be at the end of your tour of Bhutan, there is no better way to finish than at the Amankora Paro.
