With commanding views down into one of Bhutan’s magical glacial valleys, the Amankora Gangtey has the perfect location in the little visited Phobjikha Valley, famous for being a migration spot for the Black Neck Cranes who come down from the Tibetan Plateau once a year. As with all the Amankora properties, the rooms are identical, the dining room has floor to ceiling windows with sweeping views down into the valley.
With commanding views down into one of Bhutan’s glacial valleys, the Amankora Gangtey has the perfect location in the little visited Phobjikha Valley, famous for being a migration spot for the Black Neck Cranes who come down from the Tibetan Plateau once a year. As with all the Amankora properties, the rooms are identical, the dining room has floor to ceiling windows with sweeping views down into the valley. Apart from the small Black Neck Crane centre, the valley is also famous for its trekking opportunities and nature walks. The Gangtey Gompa has to be visited as well and can be included at the end of a trek. As most of the other properties in the valley are quite rustic and have limited electricity, the Amankora Gangtey is really the only place to stay and is perfect for the annual Black Neck Crane Festival held every November.
