Separated from Bali by the Lombok Strait, Lombok is quite unique from its neighbour and is sometimes referred to as an 'Unspoilt Bali'.
Lombok is a romantic, nostalgic version of Bali. It has beautiful beaches, enchanting natural wonders and a traditional way of life for its people. It also has and relatively few tourists beneath its large and looming volcano. With far fewer hotels than its more touristy neighbour, Lombok is more relaxing and has a charm all of its own; you will enjoy a more laid back atmosphere here if you combinine a visit with your Bali Holiday. However, if you yearn for something even quieter, the three Gili Islands - Gili Trawangan, Meno and Air - are very relaxed and are only a short boat ride away. These little islands have just a few beachside cafes serving up seafood dishes to vibrant music, and there's an eco-feel about them; there is minimal development and a real Robinson Crusoe feel here.
