The Governor’s Residence in Yangon is the epitome of colonial style and charm. Discreet and luxurious, it is truly one of the best heritage hotels in Asia. We really cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Conveniently located in central Yangon a short cab ride from the (2,500-year-old) Shwedagon Pagoda, the Governor’s Residence comprises a stunning 1920s teak mansion with hardwood floors. Rooms and suites are elegantly decorated in a muted colour scheme with teak furniture and silk fabrics. Lush gardens house lotus pools and a fan-shaped swimming pool. A variety of dining options (both Burmese and European) will satisfy everyone. This hotel is one of our absolute favourites and a must during any Burma holiday!
